Chapter 8:The Goodman Family

That day after Miss. Dawn saw my wrists she never bought up the depression conversation again. She understood, perfectly why. So a week passed and I stayed in the Social Service's Office. Eventually a family was willing to take me in and so at long last after buying clothes and stuff I was finally gonna have a proper home. A real home. The thought of it warmed up my iced heart.
The family were called the Goodman's. They had a son who was my age and they lived in Plymstock. It was four miles away from my previous house which had been in Stoke. And seeing as no one knew where the mother they thought I would be safe. I got in the car that morning after packing and I watched the clouds and the cars on the motorway. After about half an hour we stopped outside a house on Easter Down Close.
"Here we are", Miss dawn said stepping out the car. I stepped out taking my belongings with me as Miss dawn unlocked the car boot and bought out the suitcase of clothes we had bought together a couple of days ago. I looked around me at the two story houses. Children playing in the street, and a generally happy atmosphere. I walked up to the house door with Miss Dawn not far behind me and looked at the number it read "38".
Miss. Dawn knocked on the door and a women answered. She was a bit plump around the middle, she had hazel eyes and crazy short bouncing brown hair. She smiled at the sight of us and ushered us into the house.
